A Letter from the Founder: The Evolution of Marketing and Our Vision for the Future
Dear Reader,
My name is Landon McCarter, and I've been on an incredible journey in the digital marketing world since graduating from Missouri State University in 2009 with a degree in Marketing. Over the past 15 years, I've had the privilege of shaping and leading marketing companies, including an eight-figure agency that grew to encompass 50 local employees and managed over $100 million in advertising spend across platforms like Google, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.
The landscape of marketing has evolved dramatically – and so have I.
Today, the advent of Artificial Intelligence and changing consumer behaviors have created what I believe to be a perfect storm in marketing. People are now comfortable making significant purchases online and setting sales meetings without ever speaking to a human. This shift has allowed me to approach my latest venture, McCarter Collective, in a radically efficient way. We've moved away from traditional, budget-heavy models to a leaner, more agile approach that leverages the best of technology and human expertise.
In the past, large agencies, including mine, were burdened with heavy overheads and required substantial fees to sustain their operations. We operated with a large in-house team that demanded high costs, but the digital marketing world is changing, and so must we. Here's how we're adapting:

Our new model is what is often referred to as "fractional CMO." This approach simplifies client relationships and dramatically reduces the need for in-house marketing staff.
